A very evocative aquascape with a strong natural feel. Great work!
A Wild Piece of Nature I must begin by saying that this aquascape took me completely by surprise and stayed with me throughout the judging process. At the outset, it was nowhere near my personal top ten. Yet, as the evaluation progressed, it kept climbing higher and higher in my rankings, eventually reaching fourth place. Part of the reason is that this is a work that needs time. It takes a while to appreciate it fully, ideally viewed at leisure and in high resolution. Then there is its extraordinary audacity. I do not know to what extent the artist deliberately chose to embrace or disregard established design principles, but the result speaks for itself. Rarely have I seen an aquascape that, despite not being an authentic recreation of a natural biotope, feels so bizarrely real, wild, and organic, while simultaneously capturing the actual beauty of nature. It is a work of art, but it is also an ode to nature in its unadulterated form. Perhaps the creator has spent a great deal of time exploring natural habitats. Or perhaps he is simply a genius. I honestly do not know. What I do know is that I am left with many questions. Above all, I want to understand how this was created. I am truly, deeply impressed, and I can offer the artist nothing less than my utmost respect and admiration.
