About This Aquascape

While learning the art of Iwagumi, I decided to try creating a landscape in a low, long aquarium. The Akaishi rock and greenery create a break between strength and silence. Meanwhile, the erosion of the rock echoes the passage of time. Plants bloom, the rocks remember.

Judges' Comments

This long, well-structured layout is very pleasing to the eye and conveys a sense of tranquillity. The side mirrors have been used very skilfully, creating the impression that the aquarium is much larger, with no clear boundaries to the landscape. One point of constructive criticism is that not all the plants appear to be in the best health, especially in the foreground.
