An aquascape with a really good idea: the red plants placed on the tips of the branches really remind me of cherry blossoms, just as the title suggests. The path works really well, made longer by the way it plays with the rocks, so it looks much longer and doesn’t end sharply, letting you think the landscape goes on somewhere else, out of the viewer’s sight. This really helped give depth to the landscape. I also like the two groups of fish of different species, well separated and at different heights. Maybe the large-leaved plants at the sides of the foreground break the scale of the landscape a little, with smaller leaves the sense of size would have been even stronger.
Since 1985 the Aquatic Gardeners Association has been the standalone organization focused on promoting aquatic plants, education, aquascaping, and fostering the community of planted aquarium enthusiasts.
Membership has its privileges—such as a subscription to the award-winning quarterly journal The Aquatic Gardener, available in both print and digital formats, access to the digital archive of all published issues as well as video from our convention speakers dating back 25 years. With more exciting projects on the horizon you’ll be part of a unique community of aquatic plant and aquascaping fans eager to expand our side of the aquarium hobby.
