Biotope Information

This aquarium is undoubtedly very well done; it's impressive, a true reflection of the essence of the natural biotope—just check the Ranunculus identification. The lighting is simply wonderful; you just need to be careful with the temperature when exposing it to direct sunlight. An excellent aquarium! Congratulations!

This aquarium was my favorite! I subtracted points because the plant ID'd as Ranunculus hydrophilus does not match the region.

Wow! Here is a display where it truly feels that the author is familiar with the habitat. This is evidenced by the fact the author describes measuring parameters at the habitat and sourcing hardscape from it. I particularly like the silty nature of the substrate, which looks very like those in many lentic environments I've explored in neotropical regions. The planting feels natural and authentic and I am impressed and pleased with the decision to illuminate the tank with only natural sunlight. It does contribute significantly to the overall impression. The choice of fauna is also interesting and novel, we've not had a tadpole display before! A really impressive display, well done!
