Judges' Comments
There are some very visually compelling elements to this paludarium. There are others that distract from the overall impact. The planting dense and varied, providing a natural feel with intentionality. Hardscape elements feel vertically rigid as they transition into the submerged portion, making for a sudden transition. The submerged portion appears harmonious in some areas, but disjointed in others. The addition of mood lighting does not benefit the layout, but rather distracts from the natural feeling this paludarium could compel. The choice of livestock is also questionable, considering the ratio of land to water.
