I really like this Wabi Kusa and the excellent choice of plants. The use of the marble queen set against the augustifolia really makes for a striking centerpiece display. The pop of red from the Alternanthera really stands out and is striking in the aquascape. I also like the mix of colors from the red root floater in the container. Longer pieces of wood or a more striking centerpiece wood would have brought this Wabi Kusa to the next level. I also think a more subtle color in the container would have been a better choice. Otherwise, this was an extremely well done Wabi Kusa!
This is an absolutely phenomenal example of a wabi kusa, expressing the true potential of the art form when husbandry is mastered. The entrant displays exceptional craft in both composition and plant care. The species are unique, uncommon to wabi kusa, and give a masterful impact. The Echinodorus sp. "Marble Queen" steals the show, providing great height and density to the wabi kusa. Multiple species in full bloom further emphasizes the care for the display, as well as the excellent timing of documentation. The hardscape elements are subtle, only adding to the wabi kusa, rather than overpowering it. The vessel is in good proportion to the wabi kusa, though, the interior glaze color is very bold. Overall, this is a tremendously well-executed display and a benchmark for the contest. Brilliant work!
Enjoyed this arrangement a lot! At first I could not see the wood, which greatly adds to the arrangement, and only saw it in the close up with the hand. Better lighting on the final shot should have made sure the wood was visible. Nice pop of red plants and some that are weeping.
