Very unique Wabi Kusa ball and creative use of the wood to display your aquascape. The plants look to be in good health and there is a nice mix of contrasting textures, but the stem plants do not appear to have grown out enough to provide contrast to the display in terms of height. The container also feels too small for the aquascape and would do better in a shallow aquarium with greater length to accommodate the wood.
This is wonderful example of how wabi kusa can interact with hardscape in meaningful and natural way. The artist presents a display that feels like a fallen tree limb, where new life has the opportunity to grow. Using a very novel method of growing wabi kusa, the substrate ball itself appears very healthy. Lush moss and impressively dense Anubias draw all the attention, giving a sense of great plant health. In the background, Hydrocotyle sp. gives fun, exotic impressions and a sense of lightness that contrasts how dense this layout feels. This is a display I would love to see documented from a lower angle. The transition from the moss to the water is something left to be desired. Overall, the wabi kusa is very successful, giving a healthy and natural impression. Great work!
This is really all about the wood. I think the vase distracts from the wood and should have been a broader vase or one less contrasting to the size and angle of the wood. I like the simplicity of the design and just the overall health of the plants.
