Judges' Comments
Good use of a variety of plants that complement each other in the tank and the larger leaves of the Chlorophytum comosum that stand out as the centerpiece of the riparium. The development of both the aquatic and terrestrial portion of the aquascape was well done and the trailing Hydrocotyle from the land portion to the water portion fits the riparium. Although Chlorophytum stands out in the riparium, it may actually overpower the aquascape in this case. Very beautiful aquascape!

This is a fantastic example of a riparium that integrates life above the surface with that below. There is careful consideration to both portions of this display, showing no signs of a disconnect as plants cascade down into the water. This provides a strong visual gesture. The substrate is well-constructed and varied, giving a natural impression. Acorus sp. steals the show in this display, creating a huge impact that integrates well with the overall movement of this display. Tremendous work!

Interesting use of strong plant leaves instead of traditional hardscape to draw the eye. Water looks a little dirty (maybe it's the color) and probably could have been enhanced if the vines were trimmed slightly shorter.
