Pethia Padamia a very beautiful fish and so underrated.
Pethia Padamia
Ceratophyllum Demersum
I chose to reproduce this biotope because it is a fish I love a lot. I tried to reproduce to the closest from pictures and videos from the internet. Ph is 6,5 temperature is 24. Fish are young and healthy and really beautiful to watch.
Lherm, Haute Garonne, France
In the description, the scientific name was misspelt. the correct way to spell Pethia Padamia is Pethia padamya. To me, these small details count because checking things twice dignifies your work.
I like the organic vibe of this tank, with the effective use of leaf litter and the development of algae making it look authentic. The choice of just using a few fish is also appropriate to the size of the tank and mimics what might be found in nature. I understand the desire to use Tropica soil for the plants, but it is not a 'natural' substrate and the chosen plants would grow quite happily in sand anyway. As has been mentioned for other entries, the final photograph could be of better quality, which allows judges to more accurately interpret the condition and features of the display. Two issues which impacted the score was the visibility of the sponge filter, which makes it harder to envisage and image the biotope when peering into the tank, and the background behind the tank, which might have been adapted to seem more natural. Aside from that, I like that the author chose his species because he thinks they are great! What better reason to set up a biotope?
