Congratulations on your masterpiece! You have created a near perfect and scientifically accurate reproduction of a rare Indonesian river habitat, a bit more small rocks (not gravel) in the bed would no doubt have made it even more like the natural biotope, yet it has amazing fidelity, rock structure and, most importantly, recreation of the current and oxygen conditions vital for endemic species. The visual and structural representation is very good. Using a very long, shallow tank perfectly replicates the shallow, strong-current river conditions. The rock composition and soft lighting create the authentic atmosphere of the river bed.
Sideways scaped aquariums are not easy to pull off and even harder when its a biotope aquarium. This one is done magnificently in every way. Congratulations to the creator! P.S.: I would love to have this aquarium in my Livingroom!
This is an impressive display, featuring a well-put together reophilic habitat which mostly caters to the needs of the inhabitants. There are a few issues which lead it to lose points however. These are that two of the species reach considerable adult sizes and might benefit from more swimming room in the long term, specifically Rasbora argyrotaenia (14c) and Barbodes binotatus (20cm). Even so, this is still a very large display and the author has clearly made lots of effort to provide an authentic home for the fishes. One minor point to raise is that descriptions/details of habitats could be submitted in English (even via a translation app) to ensure that the text is exactly what the author wants to convey to the judges. Otherwise I am impressed by this layout and pleased to see the photos of the fishes appearing to be in good condition and behaving naturally.
