Good use of a select piece of driftwood to display your Wabi Kusa. You have chosen a nice mix of plants, although the moss has need of a trimming and pruning. The Anubias in the back of the display is somewhat buried amongst the rest of the plants and Ludwigia with more of a red pop or an Alternanthera species would provide a nice contrast of color to the Wabi Kusa. Unfortunately, the container detracts from the natural appearance of your display.
This is a uniquely wild take on a wabi kusa with hardscape integration! The composition is wildly untamed and well-composed to the wood it sits on. Grasses grow tall, giving a wonderful sense of height and movement. The display vessel feels precarious and unsteady, taking an otherwise densely-planted wabi kusa and floating it on a thin veil of elevated water. This display has a great amount of visual tension. It's clearly understood this wabi kusa does not live in this vessel permanently. While this is not an issue, nor uncommon for contest wabi kusa, the practice is to the detriment of this display. The unkept, hanging Hydrocotyle vines fall down the front of the wabi kusa, showing that the leaves have not had sufficient time to orient themselves upwards to light. The mosses covering the ball are loose and leggy, feeling unintegrated with the display. Over-misting a wabi kusa before documentation makes it difficult to judge. This results in foliage that is too glossy to appreciate in full, with water weighing down already falling stems. There are wonderful elements to this wabi kusa, but a lack of integration and husbandry causes the layout to suffer as a whole. With carefully considered trimming, this display would embody the beautiful chaos of wabi kusa fully.
I like the hairgrass growing up and almost becoming part of the hardscape. The hydrocotyl on the wood looks a little wilted or at least not adapated to the emersed situation. I would have chosen a different vase that was deeper as I am not sure the vase pedestal adds to the look.
