About This Aquascape

This work is inspired by the haunting yet familiar imagery of streambeds in Vietnam’s mountainous regions, especially the Northwest, in the aftermath of flash floods and debris flows. These natural disasters sweep away forests, soil, homes—and often lives. Yet, in these scarred landscapes, nature quietly begins to reclaim its ground. New green shoots emerge from fresh silt, moss takes root on bare stones, fish return to the softened currents—whispering a quiet symphony of resilience. “In another life” is not just an aquascape—it is a miniature tribute to Vietnam’s highlands, where nature is not only wild but astonishingly regenerative. Beneath its serene appearance lies a deeper message about restoration, the unstoppable rhythm of natural cycles, and the reconciliation between devastation and renewal.
