I wanted to represent a landscape inspired by Zhangjiajie Lake. So I created a small lake at a height for an even more realistic effect

This layout provides a great sense of visual density and weight. There are many elements of this layout that feel well-considered, with others not as well. Plant placement struggles in this paludarium. A near monolothic mass of Hydrocotyle sp. 'Japan' dominates the background center of the layout, demanding attention, whilst individual palm fronds struggle to feel integrated to the layout. The transition from above the surface to below is well composed in regard to hardscape, but falls short in execution of planting and care. Loose aquasoil atop of the sand bed is translated into a lack of consideration, with burnt moss tips sharing the same sentiment. Through refinement of craft and careful editing of planted elements, this can become a beautiful paludarium.
